Independent Lawyer is edited by the legal journalist Fiona Bawdon, who has written about legal aid for the national and legal press since 1988. She was launch editor of the well-respected magazine Litigation Funding and co-author of the first book on conditional fees (Conditional fees: A survival guide, Law Society 1995).
